The Polonsky Exhibition of The New York Public Library's Treasures

Identity, Exhibition

For over 125 years The New York Public Library has collected, preserved, and made accessible the world’s knowledge. Treasures tell the stories of people, places and moments spanning 4,000 years—from the emergence of the written word through to the present day. The new permanent exhibition features over 200 objects with more extraordinary items rotating into the exhibition from the 56 million in NYPL’s collections

We worked with The New York Public Library to design an exerperience that would stand the test of time and empower visitors to discover and learn. The exhibition complements the architecture of the historic Gottesman Hall—a treasure in itself—and provides striking juxtapositions and unexpected sightlines. In addition to the exhibition we also designed an identity including a logo, custom typeface and initial marketing strategy.
